I prepare this used Dell Chromebook 3180 with Windows 10 and a 128GB SanDisk USB 3.0 system drive. It’s a compact Windows starting point for your radio station, with the operating system and radio applications already installed.

What is included
You receive the laptop, its 128GB SanDisk USB 3.0 system drive, a new compatible charger and a desktop folder with first-use information.
Keep the system drive plugged in
Windows 10 and the installed applications run from the supplied USB drive. Leave it inserted while the laptop is on. It is the main system drive, not a spare installer.
Radio software
The Windows setup includes JS8Call, WSJT-X, FLDIGI, FLMSG, FLAMP, Winlink Express, FLRIG, CHIRP, SDR++, GridTracker, N1MM Logger+, QLog, Trusted QSL and OmniRig. Your radio, interface and cable still need their own connection, audio and push-to-talk settings. Send me your equipment details if you would like help choosing a kit.
JS8Call handles JS8 text messaging, while FLDIGI supports several digital modes. You’ll still need to select the right audio devices and push-to-talk settings for your radio, even when CAT control is working. The guides below explain what to check first.
Choosing this kit
Choose Windows if you want the Windows desktop and applications such as Winlink Express. Check that your particular interface and programs suit your planned setup before ordering.
Used laptop condition
I work with used laptops, so scratches, scuffs and other signs of use may be present. Appearance varies between units. If condition matters for your plans, ask me about the laptop before choosing.
Preparation and shipping
I clean, configure and test each laptop myself. Please allow five business days for preparation before shipment, with carrier transit after that.
