Description
I prepare this Dell Chromebook 3180 with Linux Mint on a 128GB SanDisk USB 3.1 system drive. It’s a compact used laptop that I clean, configure and test for your ham radio projects.
Your laptop
The Standard kit has an Intel Celeron N3060 processor, 4GB RAM and an 11.6-inch display. The original internal eMMC is available for additional file storage.
What is included
You receive the laptop, its 128GB SanDisk system drive, a new compatible charger and a first-use guide.
Keep the system drive plugged in
Linux Mint runs from the supplied USB drive. Leave it inserted while the laptop is on; it is not a spare installation drive.
Understanding the radio software
JS8Call handles JS8 text messaging, and FLDIGI offers several supported digital modes. These serve different purposes from FT8 operation in WSJT-X. The guides below explain the laptop, audio interface and control connections so you can plan your own station setup.
Setting up your radio
Your radio, interface, cable, audio and push-to-talk settings still need to match your station. If you have a question about your equipment, contact me before ordering.
Used laptop condition
This is a used laptop, so signs of wear are possible and condition varies. Read the listing and image captions, and ask me if you have a question about the laptop’s condition.
Preparation and shipping
I clean, configure and test each laptop myself. Please allow five business days for preparation before shipment, with carrier transit after that.
Free USPS Ground Advantage shipping from Melissa, Texas, to all 50 states and Washington, DC, including Alaska and Hawaii. I do not ship to US territories or international destinations.
Returns and questions
I do not accept change-of-mind returns. If your order does not arrive, is damaged or is not as described, please contact me. This policy does not take away your rights under applicable consumer law or eligible PayPal Purchase Protection.
